Keep Growing in Knowing God | Philippians 3:1-11

The Apostle Paul encourages the church to keep growing in knowing God by abandoning legalist pride, appreciating sovereign grace, and abiding in transformative communion with Christ. 

Shine Brightly by Serving Humbly | Philippians 2:19-30

The Apostle Paul encourages the church to shine like stars in dark society primarily by sticking together in ministry. In Phil 2:19-30 he points to the shining sacrificial lives of Timothy and Epaphroditus while putting a call to the church to similarly have selfless concern, strong commitment, and sovereign confidence that living worthy of the gospel is worth it.

Spotlight the Savior | Philippians 2:14-18

In Philippians 2:14-18 the Apostle Paul encourages the church at Philippi to shine as bright gospel ambassadors amidst a dark secular culture. Specifically, we're called to halt our whining, hold on to the word of life, and help others worship Christ. 

Grow in Godliness | Philippians 2:9-13

The Apostle Paul exhorts the church to grow in godliness. His strategy for sanctification includes encouraging the saints, examining ourselves, and embracing the Spirit's help. 

Live for the Lord in 2024 | Philippians 2:9-11

In Philippians 2:9-11 the Apostle Paul helps the reader to see that Jesus was not only a suffering servant per 2:5-8, but is now the exalted King. This high view of Jesus is meant to inspire a humble church that lives hopefully in Christ knowing he has risen, is reigning, and will soon return. 

Become a Lowly but Lovely Church | Philippians 2:5-8

In Philippians 2:5-8 the Apostle Paul encourages the church to keep seeking unity through humility as they look to their servant and Savior, Jesus Christ. Specifically he encourages God's people to think highly of Jesus, live humbly with each other, and die hopefully knowing that Christ has risen and in him we have new life and new ways of life as well. 

Be Selfless Brothers and Sisters | Philippians 2:1-4

In Philippians 2:1-4 the Apostle Paul encourages the church to seek unity through humility as they look to Christ Jesus together. In so doing, they will think less about me (self), more about we (church), and always about He (God). 

Live Worthy of the Gospel | Philippians 1:27-30

The Apostle Paul commends the church to live worthy of the gospel of Christ. Such a church stands of the grace of Christ Jesus and seeks to live uniquely instead of worldly as citizens of heaven on earth, united as saints, and unafraid as heralds of salvation even amidst secular society. 

Live for the Lord | Philippians 1:18b-26

In Philippians 1:18-26 the Apostle Paul clarifies the purpose of life as knowing and making known Christ. These verses show us how the grace of God help us love for the glory of God in supernatural confidence, selfless and courageous love, as well as steadfast commitment with the church. 

Minister with the Right Motives | Philippians 1:15-18a

In Philippians 1:15-18a the Apostle Paul encourages the church to minister with the right motivations. These motivations are driven from knowing Christ and get lived out in encouragement instead of envying, being selfless instead of selfish, and faithful instead of fearful.
